Five Radio Channels in Lebanon joined hands to jointly celebrate World Radio Day (WRD) on 13 February 2019 at 3 pm, in a special show that will feature a vibrant discussion on the Day’s theme: “Dialogue, Tolerance and Peace”.
As part of an initiative by the Regional Office of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the UN Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), five Lebanese radio channels, namely ‘Radio Liban’ (98.1 FM), ‘Voix Du Liban-Dbayeh’ (93.3 FM), ‘Radio Delta’ (101.7 FM), ‘Al-Nour Radio’ (92.3 FM) and ‘Radio Orient’ (88.3 FM), are uniting to broadcast at the same time a special radio episode featuring an interactive dialogue moderated by Georges Awad, Programme Officer of Communication & Information Sector at UNESCO.
The guests of this special Radio episode, in alphabetical order, are: Chadi Maalouf, Kamal Richa, Mireille Eid, Odaie Moussawi and Rita Njeim.
It is worth noting that the UN celebrates World Radio Day on 13 February of each year, after it was proclaimed by UNESCO’s General Conference at its 36th session.
UNIC Beirut is inviting all media institutions to grant the radio show the highlight it deserves as it is the first UN initiative in Lebanon on this occasion.
