Beirut hosts Media, Peace and Human Rights Regional Conference

 In collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), and in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung - Rule of Law Program in the Middle East and North Africa, the Media Association for Peace (MAP) is organizing a regional conference on "Media, Peace and Human Rights" on Tuesday 30 October, in Radisson Blu Hotel, Dunes Verdun, Beirut.

The conference opens at 9:15 am with speeches by Anja Schoeller-Schletter, Director of the Rule of Law program MENA at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and Vanessa Bassil, President & Executive Director of MAP.

The conference aims at promoting respect for human rights, raising awareness, defense, and protection, towards peace and stability in the Middle East region. It brings together journalists, activists, academics, and NGOs representatives, along with speakers from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen.
