UNIFIL said in a statement Tuesday that it has increased its patrolling in conjunction with the Lebanese Army in response to Israeli excavations just south of the Blue Line.

The peacekeeping force for the United Nations increased patrols to maintain overall stability and “avoid misunderstandings that could lead to escalation,” the statement said, stressing that the situation has remained calm in its area of operation.
